Big Transportation News for the Westshore Business District

FDOT recently purchased a plot of land on West Cypress Street near I-275 for $45M from Blackstone Group. This could potentially become Tampa’s transportation hub, linking buses, an airport people-mover, and commuter rail. If plans proceed, the hub will be constructed where The DoubleTree and Charley’s Steakhouse currently stand.

Tampa Mayor Bob Buckhorn sees this as a positive move: “It’s strategically perfectly placed. If we’re ever going to link downtown to the Westshore district to the airport and vice versa from St. Pete, we’ve got to have a multimodal center.” The nearby location will also offer Dana Shores residents another outstanding convenience.  To read more, click here.
